Lois Kathryn Pearson

Sibley, IA Lois Pearson, age 85 of Spirit Lake, IA died Wednesday evening, October 11, 2006, at Country View Manor in Sibley, IA. Memorial service will be 11:00 AM, Monday, October 16, 2006 at the First Presbyterian Church in Spirit Lake, IA with Pastor Clint Loveall and Pastor Terry Simm officiating. A private burial for family will take place prior to the memorial service. There will be a time to visit with family following the service in the fellowship hall. The Walton-Roste Funeral Home of Sibley is in charge of arrangements. Lois Kathryn Pearson was born on August 6, 1921, on a farm south of Lake Park, IA, the daughter of William and Emma (Kruger) Immens. Lois attended Excelsior High School and completed the 12th grade in Harris High School. She worked in a packing house in Sioux City in the egg department during the war, and cleaned houses before her marriage. On August 12, 1945, she was united in marriage to Dwane Pearson at the First Presbyterian Church in Sibley, IA. Throughout their marriage they resided in Sibley, IA for 30 years, Freeman, S.D. for 10 years, Spirit Lake, IA for 21 years, then Sibley again to present. Lois was active in their churches " Sibley Methodist Church, Freeman Christian Reformed Church, and the First Presbyterian Church of Spirit Lake " with soup and pie suppers, turkey suppers, circle, and various committees. She was a homemaker and loved to clean, wash, cook, and take care of her family. She also enjoyed cross-stitch, calendars, latch hook, and listening to birds singing. Lois played girls basketball in high school and loved the sport all her life. She was an avid sports fan and loved the Iowa Hawkeyes! She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Dwane Pearson of Sibley; three children: Margene (husband Wendell) Erickson of Spicer, MN, Jolene (husband William) Eddy of Aurora, CO, and William (wife Jan) Pearson of Sibley, IA; twelve grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; two sisters, Ruth Hass of Davis, CA and Emogene (husband Armond) Feauto of Oakland, IA. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Herman in infancy, Bill, Chris, Jack, John, Fred, Hank, and Ed, and sisters, Anna Coddington, Nona Kness, Alice Jurgensen, and Helen Jacobson.
