Erma Duin

Sibley, Iowa Erma Duin, age 88 of Sibley, IA died Saturday, September 19, 2009 at the Prairie View Home in Sanborn, IA. Memorial services will be 10:30 A.M. Saturday, September 26, 2009 at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Sibley, with Pastor Scott Meyer officiating. Burial will follow in the Holman Township Cemetery of Sibley. Visitation will be Friday, September 25th from 4:00 - 7:00 P.M. with the family present from 5:00 - 7:00 P.M. at the Jurrens Funeral Home of Sibley. Erma was born on March 15, 1921, in Little Rock, Iowa. She operated the Handy Grocery Store in Sibley, Iowa, from 1963 until retiring in 1983. She was a long time member of the Trinity Lutheran Church. She loved her family, gardening, flowers, crocheting and playing cards. Erma is survived by sons Doyle (Nella) Duin of Ft. Collins, Colorado; Keylon (Margaret) Duin of Primghar, Iowa; Lee (Anne) Duin of Ankeny, Iowa; nine grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; brothers Edward Dammann of Sibley; Kenneth Dammann, of Round Lake and Marvin (Theresa) Dammann of Little Rock, Iowa. Erma was preceded in death by her parents William and Anna Dammann, , daughter-in-law Eileen (Dekker) Duin, granddaughter Molly Ann Duin and sister Elva Jean Behrens. In lieu of flowers, memorials will be used for Alzheimers research.
