Wilma Schubert

NOTICE: Rock Rapids, IA Wilma Lee Schubert, age 71 of Rock Rapids, IA died Friday, July 25, 2008 at the Sanford Medical Center in Rock Rapids. Memorial service will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 29th, 2008 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Rock Rapids, IA with Rev. Dave Christensen officiating. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery in Rock Rapids. Visitation will be Monday, July 28th from 2-8 p.m. with family present from 6-8 p.m. at the Jurrens Funeral Home of Rock Rapids. Wilma Lee Schubert was born August 28, 1936, to Ben and Bernice (Reid) Dieters in Rock Rapids, IA. Wilma grew up in Rock Rapids and graduated from Rock Rapids High School in 1955. Following graduation she attended Augustana College in Sioux Falls, SD studying Liberal Arts. On August 9, 1957, Wilma was united in marriage to Dale Schubert at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Rock Rapids. To this union three daughters were born, Kay, Kathy and Sue. Dale and Wilma raised their family in Rock Rapids. Wilma had many interests and several jobs over the years with her most recent working as a pharmacy tech with Lewis Family Drug until her retirement in 2005. Wilma enjoyed camping with her family when her kids were young. She also liked to bowl and golf. She even had a hole in one to her credit. Her kids, grandkids and great-grandkids were very important to Wilma. She loved them dearly and enjoyed spending time with them, babysitting the younger ones and attending the sporting events of the older kids. Wilma will be remembered as a people person. She had many friends in the community and loved to sit and talk with them. She will be missed by many. Grateful for having shared her life are her husband of over fifty years, Dale Schubert of Rock Rapids, IA; two daughters, Kay (Kendall) DeGroot of Doon, IA and Sue (Ron) Boogerd of Rock Rapids, IA; eight grandchildren, Kellie DeGroot of Sioux Falls, SD, Dustin (Paige) DeGroot of Sioux City, IA, Derek (Abbey) DeGroot of Sioux City, IA, Drew DeGroot of Sioux Falls, SD and friend Meghan of Harrisburg, SD, Candra Knobloch of Rock Rapids, IA, Jessica Knobloch of Doon, IA, Jeremy (Tara) Boogerd of Fulda, MN and Amber Boogerd of Rock Rapids, IA; two great-grandchildren, Skyler DeGroot and Karver DeGroot; brother, Carl (Eva) Dieters of Rock Rapids, IA; and sister, Bernice (Don) Norton of Sioux Falls, SD; sister-in-law, Joanne Vogel of Missoula, MT. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Darlene Reynolds; brother, George Butch Dieters, and daughter, Kathy Knobloch.
