Elaine Kellenberger

Lester, IA Elaine Kellenberger, age 86 of Lester, IA died Friday, January 5, 2007 at the Rock Rapids Health Care Centre of Rock Rapids. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Monday January 8, 2007 at the Apostolic Christian Church in Lester. Burial will follow in the Apostolic Christian Cemetery at Lester. Visitation will be Sunday from 2-4 p.m. and from 6-8 p.m. with the family present at the Apostolic Christian Church Fellowship Hall. Elaine Kellenberger was born December 9, 1920 on a farm near West Bend, IA the daughter of Eli and Lena (Banwart) Grimm. Elaine grew up on the family farm at West Bend, IA where she attended country school. On October 2, 1940, she was united in marriage to Henry Kellenberger at Algona, IA. Following their marriage they made their home northeast of Lester until retiring to Lester in 1982. Elaine was a very busy homemaker raising their family. She enjoyed quilting and tending to her flowers. Elaine became a dedicated member of the Apostolic Christian Church in 1944. She moved into the Tuff Village at Hills, MN in the summer of 2004, until becoming a resident of the Rock Rapids Health Centre in October of 2006. This past Friday evening, January 5, 2007, Elaine died at the Rock Rapids Health Centre at the age of eighty-six. Elaine is survived by her children, Ron Kellenberger of Hills, MN; Rosella (Bob) Metzger of Lester, IA; Dennis (Shirley) Kellenberger of Steen, MN; Orlan (Mary) Kellenberger of Lamar, MO; LeRoy (Lou) Kellenberger of Beaver Creek, MN; Verlyn (Linda) Kellenberger of Lester, IA; Calvin (Edna) Kellenberger of Lester; Connie (Doug) Bergstrom of Lakeville, MN; Brad (Teresa) Kellenberger of Sabetha, KS; Suzette (Doug) Messner Eagan, MN; Curt (Martha) Kellenberger of Lamar, MO; and Ladell (Shelley) Kellenberger of Lester, IA; along with thirty-nine grandchildren; and forty-three great-grandchildren; Elaine was the oldest of thirteen children and is survived by her twelve brothers and sisters, Clifford, Arlo, Eddie, Delano, Dean and Eli, Jr. all of West Bend, IA area; Edith Kellenberger and Carol Fehr from West Bend, IA; Eleanor Steffen of Morton, IL; Lorane Martin of Venice, FL; Lavonne Kieser of Buda, IL and Diane Knoblock of Chillicothe, IL. She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry; parents, Eli and Lena Grimm; granddaughter, Nichole Messner; grandson, Robbie Metzger; and grandson-in-law, Jerry Nohl.
