Little Rock, IA Jack C. Peters age 81 of Little Rock, IA died Friday, February 24, 2012 at the Osceola Community Hospital in Sibley. Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 28, 2012 at the Salem Reformed Church in Little Rock. Burial will follow in the Pleasant View Cemetery at Little Rock. Visitation will be Monday, February 27th from 4:00 " 8:00 p.m., with the family present from 6:00 " 8:00 p.m. at the Salem Reformed Church in Little Rock. Little Rock, IA Jack C. The Jurrens Funeral Home of Sibley is in charge of arrangements. Jack C. Peters was born on January 5, 1931, the son of Ollie and Nellie (Anderson) Peters. He grew up in Little Rock and attended and graduated from Little Rock High School in 1948. On May 24, 1949, he was united in marriage to Ethyl Block in Little Rock, IA. They lived at Holstein, IA for two years where Jack worked for Central Telephone Company. Jack and Ethyl moved to a farm north of Little Rock where they started farming. After thirty-five years of marriage Ethyl passed away on July 9, 1984. After her death Jack later married Darlene Jans on February 20, 1988 in Little Rock, IA. They continued to farm until 1994, when they moved into town. Throughout the years Jack enjoyed farming and selling Pride seed corn. He was a member of the Salem Reformed Church in Little Rock, where he served on the Consistory. He also was a member of Little Rock Town and Country and served on the United Farmers Coop Board of Directors. Jack enjoyed vacationing with his family in the early years, square dancing, playing cards and picnicking with his family in the summer months to celebrate the summer birthdays. Left to cherish his memory are his wife of twenty-four years, Darlene Peters of Little Rock, IA; four children, Marcia (Paul) Leemkuil of Mt Ida, AR, Merrill (Lisa) Peters of Adrian, MN, Vickie (Ted) Jenniges of Ellsworth, MN and Doug (Ruth) Peters of Wentworth, SD; stepson, Gerald (Donna) Jans of Hawarden, IA; seventeen grandchildren, Tamar Leemkuil, Nathan (Stacy) Leemkuil, Matthew (Cora) Leemkuil, Bridget (Steve) Hinrichs, Natalie (Glenn) Hieronimus, Joshua Peters (friend Melissa), Stacie (Bill) VerSteeg, Kassidy and Kayla Peters, Tom (Lindsay) Jenniges, Janelle Jenniges, Travis (Marla) Jenniges, Tyler Jenniges and Jared, Nichole, Jason and Justin Peters; six step grandchildren, Cody Jans, Caitlin (Blake) Hoogland, Tricia Jans, Shandra (Matt) Meier and Joie and Jeremiah Jans; eighteen great-grandchildren; one brother, Gene (Gwen) Peters of Little Rock, IA; and many other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife Ethyl, daughter in law Loann Peters, one brother, Vernon Bud Peters; three sisters, Fern Fischer, Arlene Ubbinga, Anna Mae LaCour; and a stepson, Kevin Jans.
