Frances Schuett

Rock Rapids Frances Schuett, age 87 of Rock Rapids, IA died Monday, June 25, 2007 at the Rock Rapids Health Centre. Funeral services will be 10:30 AM, Friday, June 29th at Peace Lutheran Church in Rock Rapids, IA, with Rev. George Clausen officiating. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery at Rock Rapids, IA. Visitation will be Thursday, June 28th from 2 " 8 PM, with the family present from 6 " 8 PM at Roste Funeral Home of Rock Rapids. Frances Schuett was born on February 19, 1920, on a farm in rural Rock Rapids, Iowa, the daughter of John and Anna (Boll) Winter. She was baptized on September 19, 1920 and confirmed into the Christian faith on May 19, 1935 at Peace Lutheran Church of Rock Rapids. She attended Wilson High School and graduated in 1938. On October 15, 1940, Frances was united in marriage to Ed Schuett. The couple farmed near Rock Rapids for 30 years before moving to Hull to make their home in 1972. Frances lost her husband in 1974 ending their marriage of 34 years. She remained living in Hull until moving back to Rock Rapids in 1988. Frances loved her church and her family. She will be missed greatly by her daughter, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Cooking, quilting, gardening, playing pinochle and watching the Minnesota Twins were just some of her interests and hobbies. She was also very active with her church over the years and found delight serving others through working with the LWML and Ladies Aid group, singing in the choir, teaching Sunday School and also loved to quilt with the Peace Lutheran Quilters. Her familys special memories of her include birthday parties, her love of entertaining, avid letter writing, and her wonderful cooking. Family favorites include baked beans, sponge cake, duck dinner, assorted pies, and her divinity. She will be remembered for her faith in God, and her devotion to her family and friends. She is survived by her daughter, Janet (and Larry) Noah of Brandon, SD; four grandchildren, Lisa (and Jamie) Miles of Shawnee, KS, Susan (and Jim) Barnes of Lakeville, MN, Kristin Pendleton of Lenexa, KS, and Kimberly (and Ted) Campbell of Lincoln, NE; ten great-grandchildren, Derrick, Blake and Brock Miles, Rebecca, Peter, Sarah and Elizabeth Barnes, Caden Pendleton, Tyson and Vanessa Campbell; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Anna Winter; her husband, Erhardt Ed Schuett; four brothers, John Winter, Raymond Winter, Arthur Winter and Paul Winter (infant); four sisters, Esther Davenport, Alma Dieren, Florence Schuett (twin) and Ruth Pickett.
