Larchwood, Iowa Lori Gulk, age 42 of Larchwood, IA died unexpectedly Friday, April 22, 2011 at her home in Larchwood. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, April 25th at St. Marys Catholic Church in Larchwood, IA, with Fr. Jeff Scheisman officiating. Burial will follow in Larchwood Cemetery at Larchwood, IA. Visitation will be Sunday, April 24th from 4:00 to 8:00 PM, with the family present from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at St. Marys Church in Larchwood. Also there will be a Vigil service at 7:00 PM at the church. Lori Ann Gulk was born January 29, 1969 in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, the daughter of Harry Gulk Jr. (deceased) and Rolland and Karen (Krier) Gulk Viereck. She grew up in Larchwood, IA and attended West Lyon School, graduating in 1987. She was employed by Avera McKennan Hospital and Avera Heart Hospital for the past 20 years. She worked as Health Unit Coordinator in Emergency and admissions at the Avera Heart Hospital, most recently she worked for the Information Systems Team. In her leisure time she loved to read, play cards, and most of all spend time with family and friends. She was a lifelong member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, active in the church choir and St. Rose Circle. Her family remembers Lori for her beautiful smile, infectious laugh and generous heart. She is survived by her parents, Rolly and Karen Viereck; eight siblings, Amy Snyders, David (Michele) Gulk, Mike Viereck, Jan (Greg) Koch, Kim Sehr and Greg Wehrkamp, Lisa (Tony) Snyders, Nancy (Brian) Van Veldhuizen, Shari Viereck; and many nieces, nephews and other extended family. She was preceded in death by her father, Harry Gulk Jr.; paternal grandparents, Harry and Bertha Gulk, maternal grandparents, Paul and Clara Krier and Ed and Ivy Viereck; and two brothers, Keith and Jason Viereck.
