Sibley, IA Ron Koser, age 59 of Sibley died Friday, July 31, 2009 at the Royal C. Johnson Veterans Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD. Funeral service will be 10:30 AM, Tuesday, August 4th at First Baptist Church in Sibley, IA, with Pastor Dan Feldkamp officiating. Burial will follow at Holman Township Cemetery in Sibley. Visitation will be Monday, August 3rd from 2:00 to 8:00 PM, with family present from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Jurrens Funeral Home of Sibley. Ronald Craig Koser was born January 11, 1950 in Sibley, IA, and was the only child of Duane and Lena (Odens) Koser. He graduated from Sibley High School in 1968. Ron served as a Staff Sergeant of the Air National Guard of South Dakota and a member of the United States Air Force Reserve from 1968-1974. He was united in marriage to the lovely Donna Rae Willemssen of George IA on May 29, 1970. The couple made their home in Sibley for 38 years together. This union produced two children, Stacy Lynn and Christopher Louis. Ron was known to be a jack of all trades, working as a county lineman, trucker, farmer, fixer-upper and contractor, just to name a few. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Sibley his entire life. Ron greatly enjoyed his hobbies as an amateur ham radio operator, flying model airplanes, working with computers, rebuilding cars and spending time on a lake. He was often seen around town cruising in his red Mustang convertible with Donna and their friends. Ron was known for his unique sense of humor, his saucy attitude and feisty spirit. He was dearly loved by those who knew him well, and will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Ron is survived by his daughter Dr. Stacy Koser Carmichael and grandson Jaden Thomas Carmichael of Clearwater, Florida, and his son Christopher Koser of SibIey, Iowa. He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, and his beloved wife Donna.
