Sibley, IA Anna Mae Stanton, age 89 of Sibley, IA died Sunday, September 16, 2007, at the Country View Manor in Sibley. Funeral service will be held 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 20, 2007, at the United Methodist Church at Sibley, IA with Rev. Doug Harding, officiating. Burial will follow in the Holman Township Cemetery at Sibley, IA. Visitation will be Wednesday from 2:00 " 8:00 p.m. with the family present from 6:00 " 8:00 p.m. at the Walton-Roste Funeral Home of Sibley. Anna Mae Stanton was born June 16, 1918, at Cloverdale, IA the daughter of Earnest and Lydia (Schuck) Holle. Anna Mae grew up on a farm near Little Rock where she attended country school. Anna Mae was united in marriage to Lloyd Stanton on November, 8, 1936, at Sioux Falls, SD. They newly wed couple made their home on a farm southeast of Little Rock. They raised their family and farmed on this farm for many years. Anna Mae cleaned several businesses in Sibley and later worked at Aalfs Manufacturing in Sheldon, retiring in the late 1980s. She enjoyed making sugar cookies and serving her delicious rhubarb pie to her family and friends. Anna Mae and Lloyd spent many hours at Lake Okoboji relaxing and taking rides in their boat. On May 23, 1996, Lloyd died, and Anna Mae continued to live in their home at Sibley with her cat Snickers. This past January 30th, 2007, Anna Mae became a resident of Country View Manor in Sibley where she died this past Sunday morning, September 16, 2007, at the age of eighty-nine. She is survived by her children, Merlin and his wife, Mary Ann Stanton of Sibley, IA; Marlys and her husband, Richard Marco of Worthington, MN; and Linda Petersen of Sibley; along with eight grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren and four great great-grandchildren; and a sister-in-law, Millie Roos of Sibley, IA. Anna Mae was preceded in death by her husband, her parents; an infant daughter, Koni; sister, Leona; great grandson, Jacob and a nephew, Raymond.
