West Bend, IA Eunice Elaine Knobloch, age 84 of West Bend, IA died Saturday, Dec. 20, 2008 at the West Bend Care Center in West Bend, IA. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 23rd at the Apostolic Christian Church in Lester. Burial will follow in the Apostolic Christian Cemetery at Lester. Visitation will be Monday, Dec. 22nd from 2-4 p.m. and from 6-8 p.m. with the family present at the Apostolic Christian Church Fellowship Hall. Eunice Elaine Knobloch was born on March 23, 1924, the daughter of Jacob and Lydia (Traub) Knobloch near Alvord, Iowa. She grew up in rural Alvord and attended Logan #6 Country School. Eunice worked in the area for a number of years. During that time she became a member of the Apostolic Christian Church in Lester, IA. She later moved to Elgin, IL and lived there for thirty years, working for Print Pak before moving back to West Bend, IA for five years. Eunice then moved to Lester in 1994 to live with her sister, Gladys and moved back to West Bend, IA to the West Bend Care Center assisted living. Eunice enjoyed being around her family, she especially loved her nieces and nephews. In later years, Eunice was able to make several big trips. She went to Holland twice as well as Japan. She was able to travel with her sister Betty Dietrich and had a wonderful time. This past Saturday, Eunice passed away at the West Bend Care Center at the age of 84. She is survived by six siblings, Matilda (husband Elmer) Fehr of West Bend, IA, Dena (husband Calvin) Weiss of Sabetha, KS, Gladys Knobloch of Lester, IA, Arthur (wife Elgeva) Knobloch of Lester, IA, Dale (wife Mary) Knobloch of Larchwood, IA and Betty (husband Clarence) Dietrich of Salem, OR; two sisters-in-law, Lauretta Knobloch of Alvord, IA and Irene Knobloch of Rock Rapids, IA; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, Nathan, Edwin and Orvie Knobloch, and one sister, Ella Mae Schmidt.
