George, IA Betty Feldman age 69 of George, IA died Thursday Sept. 25, 2008 at the Good Samaritan Center in George, IA. Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 27th at the Jurrens Funeral Home of George. Burial will follow in the Evergreen Lawn Cemetery at George. Visitation will be Friday, Sept. 26th from 2:00 " 8:00 p.m. with the family present from 6:00 " 8:00 p.m. at the Jurrens Funeral Home of George. Betty Lou Feldman was born on May 1, 1939 in Rock Valley, Iowa, the daughter of Joe and Bernice (Smit) Vredeveld. She grew up in Rock Rapids area and attended Central Lyon High School. On February 14, 1958 she married Herbert Ray Feldman at the church parsonage north of George. They lived at various places in the area such as Little Rock, IA, Bigelow, MN, Adrian, MN, Rushmore, MN and George, IA. Betty helped her husband operate their grain trucking business for many years. She enjoyed keeping flowers, especially cactus. She and her husband Herbert enjoyed attending Midwest Polka Fest dances. She was also known for her excellent apple pies and Christmas dinners. She is survived by her husband, Herbert Feldman of George, IA; five children, Marie Bouma of Orange City, IA, Bob (and Twila) Feldman of George, IA, Richard Feldman of Hospers, IA, Susan (and Dan) Rentschler of La Crosse, WI and Joan (and Bill) Johnson of Ashton, IA; grandchildren, Michael Bouma; Melissa Bouma; Matthew Feldman; Tracy Feldman; Daniel Feldman; Joshua Feldman; Steven Feldman; Angela Rentschler; Amy Rentschler and Charlene Johnson; one brother, Ronald (and Barb) Vredeveld of Council Bluffs, IA. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Bernice Vredeveld; son, Michael Feldman; son-in-law, Kenneth Bouma; sister, Carol Lange; and nephew, Kory Vredeveld.
