Sibley, IA Genevieve Jenny Jones, age 90 of Bigelow, MN died Sunday, June 3, 2012 at the Sibley Nursing & Rehab in Sibley, IA. Memorial Mass will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, June 9, 2012 at the St. Andrews Catholic Church in Sibley, with Father John Vakulskas as celebrant. Burial will follow in the St. Andrews Catholic Cemetery in Sibley. Visitation will be Friday, June 8th from 2:00 " 8:00 p.m., with the family present from 6:00 " 8:00 p.m. at the Jurrens Funeral Home of Sibley. There will be a rosary at 5:00 p.m. and vigil service at 7:30 p.m. that evening. Genevieve Kathryn Jones was born on March 15, 1922, the daughter of William and Evaline (Lenoir) Kress, on Grahams Island, Devils Lake, ND. Jenny attended St. Michaels Mission School in Fort Totten, ND and Stephan Mission School in South Dakota through the tenth grade. On April 19, 1946, she was united in marriage to Edward Jones in Kansas City, KS. To this union three children were born: Clinton, Jenita, and Denise. Jenny worked for Campbells Soup Company and retired after twenty-three years, but she didnt slow down. She continued working at WALA and was active in the Nobles County Historical Society until she started cancer treatments. Jenny was a member of St. Andrews Catholic Church in Sibley, IA and St. Marys Catholic Church in Worthington, MN. Jenny enjoyed gardening, bird watching, traveling on bus tours, going to the casino, and volunteering wherever she was needed. She took pride in everything she did, and she will be greatly missed. Jenny is survived by her two daughters, Jenita (Dan) Kennedy of Kearney, MO and Denise (Mark) Helmers of Allendorf, IA; daughter-in-law, Leslie Glines-Jones of Concord, NH; eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; one sister, Sister Mary Brenden of Covington, KY; two brothers, Rick LEsperance of Rolla, ND and Peter (Betty) LEsperance of Blaine, MN; brother-in-law, Chuck (Vivian) Jones of Lake Preston, SD; sister-in-law, Elsie (Jim) Hancock of Ree Heights, SD; special friend, Suzie Sturgis of Lincoln, NE; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Edward; son, Clinton; three brothers, John Kress, Art LEsperance, and Francis LEsperance; and two sisters, Blanche Martin and Lucile LEsperance.
