Sibley, Iowa Angeline Nattress, age 95 of Sibley, IA died Saturday, October 17, 2009 at the Osceola Community Hospital in Sibley. Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, October 22nd at the First Reformed Church in Sibley, IA, with Rev. Terry Simm officiating. Burial will follow at Holman Township Cemetery in Sibley. Visitation will be Wednesday, October 21st from 2:00 " 8:00 p.m. with family present from 6:00 " 8:00 p.m. at the Jurrens Funeral Home of Sibley. Angeline Jacoba (Van Der Wilt) Nattress was born on November 19, 1913 in Alton, IA, the daughter of Henry and Katie (De Young) Van Der Wilt. She was raised on a farm and attended country school near Middleburg, IA. When she was fourteen years old she and her family moved to rural Sibley, IA. Angeline worked at Priebes Poultry and cleaned houses. She gave her profession of faith at the First Reformed Church in Sibley on March 30, 1930 and has been a life long member of seventy-nine years ever since. On January 4, 1934, she was united in marriage to Woodrow W. Nattress at her parents home near Ocheyedan, IA. The couple farmed in various places such as, Ocheyedan, Rushmore, MN and Sibley area in 1957, then retired and moved into Sibley in 1978. In January of 2007, Angeline became a resident at the Country View Manor in Sibley. She enjoyed the farm life, making quilts, embroidery, gardening, cooking and baking. She was known for her hospitality and good food. Angeline loved her family and especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is survived by three children, Wayne Nattress of Altoona, IA, Larry (wife, Roberta) Nattress of Lead, SD and Angela (husband, Marcus) DeBoer of Sibley, IA; five grandchildren, Blair (wife, Shelley) Nattress of Luverne, MN, Sonya Forbes of Ellwood City, PA, Jarod (wife, Melissa) Nattress of Avon, IN, Daren Nattress of Lead, SD, and Larry (wife, Melissa) DeBoer of Sibley, IA; eleven great-grandchildren, Brooke and Alyssa Nattress, Jamieson Forbes, Gabrielle and Claire McCloskey, Emma, Jane, Noah and Ryan Nattress, and Kalie and Jayden DeBoer; sister-in-law, Lucille Cook of Lakefield, MN; many nieces and nephews; and her special friend, Snickers. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Woodrow W. Nattress; four brothers and six sisters.
