Sibley, Iowa Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday May 11, 2013 at Salem Reformed Church in Little Rock, IA with Rev. Michael Weaver officiating. Burial will follow in Pleasant View Cemetery in Little Rock. Visitation will be Friday, May 10th from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. with family present from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Jurrens Funeral Home in Sibley, IA. Eileen Christians, age 74 of Sibley, IA, formerly of Rushmore, MN passed away Wednesday, May 8, 2013 at the Osceola Community Hospital in Sibley, IA after a long battle with a condition that left her paralyzed. Eileen Eunice (Spieker) Christians was born on the home place in Little Rock, IA, the daughter of William and Verna (Kruse) Spieker. She attended and graduated from the Little Rock High School. On February 12, 1960, Eileen was united in marriage to Johnny D. Christians at the Salem Reformed Church in Little Rock, IA. After married she and her husband farmed near Little Rock, IA on the MN side of the Stateline. Eileen was a member of the Salem Reformed Church. To the union four children were born. First part of her life she was a homemaker and later Eileen worked for Campbells and Chase bag. Six months before she could retire she ended up with a condition that left her paralyzed. She resided at the home place where her husband took care of her for 5 years. After 5 years then she resided at the Sibley Nursing home and rehab. She enjoyed baking, cooking, and doing bible studies. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family. Eileen leaves to cherish her memory her four children, John S. Christians of Rushmore, MN, Denise (Jeff) Lynn of Lismore, MN, Sherri (Stephen) Heimgartner of Worthington, MN and Shawna Christians of Adrian, MN; nine grandchildren, John W. and Ashlee Christians, Amanda, Natalie, Samantha, and Nicholas Lynn, Austin Heimgartner, Christopher and Kaitlyn Christians, two sisters, Sheila (Norman) Klaassen of Sibley, IA and Verla (Bill) DeLong of York, NE; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Verna and William Spieker and her husband Johnny D. Christians
