Randall John Anderson

NOTICE: Rock Rapids, IA Randall John Anderson, age 51 of Rock Rapids, IA died suddenly Saturday, June 18th, 2011 at his home in Rock Rapids, IA. Memorial service will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 22, 2011 at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Rock Rapids, IA, with Reverend Dan Kordahl officiating. Family will be greeting friends following the service in the Fellowship Hall in the lower level of the church. Randall Anderson was born January 11, 1960 in Sibley, IA to John and Mary (Peterson) Anderson. He was raised in Rock Rapids and attended Rock Rapids High School. In his high school years, Randall was a very good athlete. He lettered in football, track and wrestling. On April 24th, 1982 he was united in marriage to Pamela Baker in Estherville, IA. To this union three children were born. Randall worked mainly in the heavy construction business. He was a heavy equipment operator and worked on large projects such as the hospital addition in Spencer, IA. He also worked for Shine Brothers metal business and Norgaard Sand and Gravel pit in Spencer, IA. Randy loved to spend time outdoors. He at one time bred and raised Blue Tic hunting dogs. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed watching Nascar and riding his electric bike. This past Saturday, Randy passed away unexpectedly at his home in Rock Rapids at the age of 51. He is survived by his three children, Heather Linn of Estherville, IA; Rachel Anderson and Dylan Anderson both of Lost Island, IA; ex-wife, Pamela Baker Anderson of Ruthven, IA; parents, John and Mary Anderson of Rock Rapids, IA; two grandchildren, Devin and Ryan; sisters, Rhonda (Lyle) Olson of Steen, MN and Tammy (Mark) Dillingham of Spirit Lake, IA; nieces, nephews and other extended family members. Randy was preceded in death by his grandparents, Conrad and Clara Anderson; and Frank and Bernice Peterson.
