Leonard "Bud" Risseeuw

LESTER, IA Leonard Bud Risseeuw age 76 of Lester, IA died unexpectedly Sunday at his residence. Memorial services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, June 12th at First Reformed Church in Doon with Rev. Donald Baker, officiating. Burial will be at 9:00 a.m. Friday, June 12th in Hillside Cemetery at Lester, IA. Visitation will be Thursday, June 11th from 2:00 " 8:00 p.m. with the family present from 6:00 " 8:00 p.m. at the Jurrens Funeral Home of Larchwood. Leonard Bud Risseeuw was born February 1, 1933 at Lakeview, SD the son of Leonard and Pauline (Leusink) Risseeuw. Bud grew up near Hull, IA and attended Hull Community School where he graduated in 1952. Bud was united in marriage to Norma DeJongh on April 7, 1953. He farmed at Clinton, WI until 1972, and then moved to his farm near Lester. On September 29, 1974, Buds wife Norma died ending their marriage of twenty-one years. Bud had several pastimes such as: fishing, baseball, music, singing and farming. Bud was known by many for his gospel singing at many area events and churches. He was a member of the Bethel Reformed Church of Lester, was a part of the Senior Saints singing group of Northwest Iowa. He is survived by his children, Larry Risseeuw of Larchwood, IA; Vicki Sueverkruebbe of Sioux Falls, SD; and Laurel Rokowski of Tucson, AZ; four grandchildren; four great grandchildren; siblings, Ethel (Wolfswinkel) Gruys of Edgerton, MN; Clarretta DeGroot of Doon, IA and Bertha Kruizenga of Delavan, WI. Leonard was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Norma; infant sister, Bertha; brother-in-law, Ceaver Wolfswinkel; Kenneth De Groot; and Glen Kruizenga.
