Rock Rapids, IA Clair C. Borman, age 89 of Rock Rapids, IA died Thursday, November 11, 2010 at the Rock Rapids Health Centre in Rock Rapids, IA. Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, Nov. 15th at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Rock Rapids, IA, with burial following at Riverview Cemetery in Rock Rapids. Visitation will be Monday, Nov. 15th from 12 Noon until the hour of service at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Rock Rapids. Clair Charles Borman was born on June 21, 1921 in Rock Rapids, IA to Albert Henry and Clara Carrie (Bauchspies) Borman. The Borman family lived on a farm near Rock Rapids from 1918-1923 before moving near Lake Preston, SD from 1923-1933. They once again moved close to Rock Rapids and rented several places before buying a farm eight miles northwest of Rock Rapids near Steen, MN where Clair lived and worked until December of 1989 when he moved to Rock Rapids. He lived in his own home until October 28 of this year when he was hospitalized for a short time, then moved to the Rock Rapids Health Centre where he died this past Thursday, November 11, 2010 at the age of 89. He is survived by his nieces and nephews, Penny and her husband Vernon Lorenzen of Rock Rapids; Sharon Steenblock of Rock Rapids; Gary and wife Judy Borman of Rock Rapids; Jerry Borman of Rock Rapids; niece-in-law, Vicki Borman of Rock Rapids; Marilyn & Roger Bradley of Humboldt, SD; Marge Robertson of Tea, SD; Mike and Becky Meyers of Viborg, SD; Marcy and Irvin Skatvold of Dell Rapids, SD; Mary Nabity of Alcester, SD; Mark Meyers of Montrose, SD; Jim Ranschau of Luverne, MN; Pat Austin of Sioux Falls, SD; Janet and Jeff Quesada of Tacoma, WA; Peggy Mayer of Minneapolis, MN; Jeff Ranschau of Richland, WA and Julie and Bryon Foote of Worthington, MN; and sister-in-law, Joyce Borman of Rock Rapids; and numerous great nieces and nephews and great- great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, three siblings, Loren Borman, Viola Borman Meyers, Virginia Borman Ranschau; nephew, Tom Borman; and his best friend Johnny. In Lieu of flowers, family wishes memorials be directed toward Lyon County Hospice.
