DEATH NOTICE: SIBLEY, IOWA Jane M. Janssen, age 70 of Sibley, Iowa died Saturday, November 25, 2006 at her home rural Sibley. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 A.M. on Wednesday, November 29, 2006 at St. Marys Catholic Church in Ashton, with Father Clair L. Boes officiating. Burial will follow in Holman Township Cemetery of Sibley. Visitation will be from 2 until 8:00 P.M. with the family present from 6 " 8 P.M. on Tuesday, November 28th at the Walton-Roste Funeral Home of Sibley. There will be a rosary at 4:30 PM and Parish Wake Service at 7:00 PM. Jane Mary Janssen was born on October 23, 1936, the daughter of Leo and Helen (Lutterman) Wallrich on a farm near Ashton, IA. Jane attended and graduated from St. Josephs Catholic School. On January 19, 1956, she married Dean Janssen and they lived and farmed in the Sibley area. Jane was a member of the St. Andrews Catholic Church in Sibley. She enjoyed gardening, collecting dolls, quilting, cooking, canning, going to garage sales, refinishing furniture and wintering in Texas. Most of all she loved being with her grandchildren. Jane is survived by her husband of fifty years, Dean Janssen of Sibley; seven children: Deb (husband Roger) Riebeling, Jim (wife Laura) Janssen, Randy (wife Shelly) Janssen, Pete (wife Diane) Janssen all of Sibley, Larry (wife Linda) Janssen of Paullina, IA, Sharon (husband Curt) Ackerman of Dayton, WY and Rex (wife Kelly) Janssen of Sibley; fourteen grandchildren: Kim Folkmann, Kevin Riebeling, Tabitha Janssen, Terry Janssen, Lucas Janssen, Jacob Schutte, Maggie Schutte, Emar Ackerman, Will Ackerman, Brandon Janssen, Mitchell Janssen, Kristen Rollins, Hope Janssen and Larissa Janssen and two great-grandchildren: Brandon Janssen and Collin Folkmann; one sister, Joyce (husband Marlyn) Lonneman of Spirit Lake, IA; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and aunts. She was preceded in death by her parents, Helen and Leo, brother, Bob Wallrich and grandson, Terry Janssen.
