Sibley, IA Marjorie Poss age 90 of Sibley, IA died Thursday, April 4, 2013 at Country View Manor Nursing Home in Sibley. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 AM, Monday, April 8th, 2013 at St. Andrews Catholic Church in Sibley, with Father John Vakulskas as celebrant. Burial will follow at St. Andrews Catholic Cemetery in Sibley. Visitation will be Sunday, April 7th from 4:00 " 8:00 PM, with the family present from 6:00 " 8:00 PM at the Jurrens Funeral Home of Sibley with a rosary service at 5:00 PM and a vigil service at 7:30 PM. Marjorie Barbara Poss was born on May 4, 1922 in Ashton, IA the daughter of Anthony and Elizabeth (Schwarzkopf) Strouth. She attended St. Mary's Catholic School through the sixth grade when Marjorie and family moved to Luverne, MN. She graduated from High School in 1941. She worked at California Ship Building Co. at Long Beach during WWII. She came to Huron SD, to join her family when her step-father died. While there she worked at Ladies Fashion Shop. Later, Marjories mother and two sisters moved to Sibley, IA. She was care taker for her mother. On December 10, 1993 Marjorie was united in marriage to Leonard Poss at St. Andrews Catholic church in Sibley. The couple made their home in Sibley. Marjorie is survived by, brothers-in-law, Alvin Poss of Florence, OR; and Dallas (Lorraine) Poss of Sibley, IA; nephew, Jerry (Nadine) Gosch of Cedar Hill, TX and their children Grant and Jennifer and Jennifers son Keaton; niece, Kay (Cliff) Kraft of Ft. Dodge and their daughter, Heather (Justin) Bass and their children Keaton and Zach; nephew, Kyle (Kim) Koopman of Aloha, OR; niece, Barb (Dean) Christians of Sioux Falls, SD and their children Austin and Christopher; and other extended family members. She was preceded in death by her parents; her step-father John Petersen; her husband Leonard on March 21, 2009; sister, Lois Koopman and her husband Karyl Koopman and their daughter, Karen Koopman; sister, Millie Gosch and her husband Marvin; great-niece, Christine Christians.
