NOTICE: Ashton, Iowa Robert Henning, age 62 of Ashton, IA died suddenly, Sunday, December 02, 2007 at the Osceola Community Hospital in Sibley, IA. Memorial mass will be 10:30 AM Thursday, December 6th at St. Marys Catholic Church in Ashton, with Father Clair Boes, as celebrant. Visitation will be Wednesday, December 5th, from 2-8 PM with the family present from 6-8 PM at the Jurrens Funeral Home of Ashton. A Rosary Service will be held at 4:00 PM, with a Vigil Service at 7:00 PM at the Jurrens Funeral Home in Ashton. Robert George Henning was born on September 23, 1945 the son of George and Lena (Paulsen) Henning in Worthington, MN. He attended and graduated from Worthington High School. Robert was in the U.S. Army for two year, serving one year in Vietnam. On June 21, 1969, Robert was united in marriage to Mary Krogman at the St. Marys Catholic Church in Worthington. He worked for Toro in Windom, MN for a time but later started driving truck with his dad and has been doing it ever since. He was currently driving for Gary Prins Trucking in Worthington. Robert loved animals especially the many different dogs he care for through the years. He also enjoyed collecting miniature trucks. Robert is survived by his wife of thirty-eight years, Mary Henning of Ashton; one brother, Marvin (wife Pam) Henning of Worthington; mother-in-law, Esther Krogman of Ashton; brother-in-law, Larry (wife Bonnie) Krogman of Ashton; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents.
