Steven Paul Lemke

Rock Rapids, Iowa Steve Lemke, age 65 of Spirit Lake, IA, formerly of Rock Rapids, IA died unexpectedly on Wednesday, July 17, 2013 at his home in Spirit Lake. Funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m., Monday, July 22nd at Jurrens Funeral Home of Rock Rapids with Rev. Mark Hanson officiating. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery at Rock Rapids. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. to the time of service on Monday, July 22nd at Jurrens Funeral Home of Rock Rapids. Steven Paul Lemke was born April 15, 1948 in Sac City, IA to Rev. Paul and Eleanor (Kunz) Lemke. In 1964 the Lemke family moved to Rock Rapids, IA, Steve graduated from Central Lyon High School in 1966 and then studied at Morningside College in Sioux City. In June of 1986 Steve married Paula Figg and had one child, Cari. He and his family moved to Spirit Lake, IA in 1992. Steve embraced living at the Lakes by boating, golfing, and spending time with family. This past Wednesday, July 17th, Steve passed away at his home in Spirit Lake. He will be greatly missed. He is survived by his daughter Cari (Willy) Laage and grandchild, Liam Laage of Ames, IA; sisters, Barbara (Roger) Van Roekel of Rock Rapids, IA and Patti (Mark) Olinyk of Wisconsin Rapids, WI; and multiple nieces and nephews and other extended family members. Steve was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, James Frederick Lemke.
