Sibley, Iowa Donald Reilly, age 86 of Sibley, Iowa died Friday, August 7, 2009 at the Sibley Nursing and Rehab in Sibley. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, August 10, 2009 at St. Andrews Catholic Church in Sibley, with Fr. John Vakulskas as celebrant. Burial will follow in the St. Andrews Catholic Cemetery at Sibley, IA. Visitation will be Sunday, August 9th from 5:00 " 8:00 p.m. at the Jurrens Funeral Home of Sibley. There will be a rosary at 5:00 p.m. and a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. Donald Edward Reilly was born on May 7, 1923 in Sibley Iowa, the son of John and Kathleen (Noonan) Reilly. He grew up in Sibley and graduated from Sibley High School in 1940. He enlisted in the Army and was honorably discharged after two years with the rank of Staff Sergeant. He took basic training at Fort Hood and fought in the Philippines. After the service he returned home and farmed and was a cattle feeder. Don enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He will be greatly missed by the people, whose lives he touched. He is survived by his special friend Joan Vant Hof and her family of Orange City, IA; one sister, Mary Ament of Cherokee, IA; nine nieces and nephews, Michael Reilly of Torrence, CA, John Reilly of Santa Ana, CA, Linda Wan of Lawndale, CA, Julie Marr of Marietta, GA, Betsy Black of Dubuque, IA, Ellen Russell of Omaha, NE, Gillian Ament of Silver Spring, MD, Stephanie Schutt of Iowa City, IA and Teri Fairchild of Dubuque, IA. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Kathleen Reilly; brother, Maurice Reilly; sister-in-law, Gladys Reilly and brother-in-law, Del Ament.
