Linda Lee Baerenwald

Jasper, MN Linda Baerenwald, age 61 of Jasper, MN died Friday, March 7, 2008 at the Avera Dougherty Hospice House in Sioux Falls, SD, after a courageous battle with cancer. Funeral services will be 10:30 AM Tuesday, March 11, 2008 at the Jasper Evangelical Lutheran Church in Jasper, MN, with Pastor Eugene Anderson officiating. Burial will follow in the St. John Lutheran Cemetery of Boyden, Iowa. Visitation will be Monday, March 10th from 5-8 PM with the family present from 6-8 PM at the Jasper Evangelical Lutheran Church, with a prayer service at 7:00 PM. The Jurrens Funeral Home of Hills, MN is handling the arrangements. Linda Lee Baerenwald was born on June 25, 1946, the daughter of Wilbur and Florence (Reimers) Heemskerk in Sheldon, Iowa. She grew up in the Boyden, Iowa area and attended and graduated from Boyden-Hull High School. On August 17, 1965, she was united in married to Lyle Baerenwald at the St. John Lutheran Church in Boyden, Iowa. Linda helped her husband Lyle farm and they were blessed with two daughters. Linda was an active member of the Jasper Evangelical Lutheran Church. She enjoyed living on the farm, cooking and gardening. She also liked camping, fishing, boating, riding motorcycle and shopping. She loved spending time with her family especially her grandchildren. Linda is survived by her husband of forty-two years Lyle Baerenwald of Jasper, MN; two daughters: Kristy (husband Kevin) Swenson of Madison, MN and Amy (husband Jay) Ripperda of Larchwood, Iowa; four grandchildren; one sister, Jill (husband Alan) Beyer of Hull, Iowa; one brother, Denis Heemskerk of Worthington, MN; mother-in-law, Elsie Baerenwald of Jasper, MN and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Florence and Wilbur Heemskerk and father-in-law, George Baerenwald.
