Stella Schiernbeck

Sibley, Iowa Stella Schiernbeck, age 92 of Sibley, IA died Friday, January 12, 2007, at Sibley Nursing and Rehab in Sibley, IA. Funeral service will be 10:30 AM, Tuesday, January 16th at the First Reformed Church in Sibley, IA, with Rev. Gary Van Heukelom officiating. Burial will follow at the Holman Township Cemetery in Sibley, IA. Visitation will be Monday, January 15st from 2 " 8 PM with the family present from 6 " 8 PM at the Walton-Roste Funeral Home of Sibley. Stella Schiernbeck was born on March 1, 1914 in Alton, Iowa, the daughter of Case and Lillian (Van Iperen) Van Kley. She was united in marriage to Hans Schiernbeck on December 6, 1938. They farmed near Cloverdale, Iowa for fifteen years before moving to a farm east of Ocheyedan, Iowa. The retired and moved to their home in Sibley in November of 1979. Stella became a resident of Sibley Nursing and Rehab in September of 2005. She was a member of the First Reformed Church in Sibley and was a Sunday School Teacher for many years. She loved small Children and treasured her time spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Stella is survived by her one son Gary and his wife Jackie of Hartley, Iowa; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; one sister Hilda Roelfs of Ashton; one brother Willis Van Kley of Sanborn; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, five brothers, and two sisters.
