Robert Lee Welch

Sibley, Iowa Robert Welch age 77 of Lansing, Michigan, formerly of Sibley, Iowa died Monday, August 11, 2008 at the Sparrow Hospital in Lansing, Michigan. Graveside service will be at 3:00 PM Friday, August 15, 2008 at the Pleasant View Cemetery in Little Rock, Iowa, with Pastor Scott Meyer officiating. Military honors will be presented by the Buss-Johnson American Legion Post #316. There will be a visitation prior to the service from 1:00 until 2:30 PM at the Jurrens Funeral Home in Sibley. Robert Lee Welch was born Nov. 26, 1930 in Spickard, Missouri the son of Henry and Polly (Thogmartin) Welch. He served in the U. S. Armys 1st Cavalry Division during the Korean War. He was an Insurance Agent owning the Welch Insurance Agency and was a member of the First Lutheran Church of Charlotte. Robert is survived by: one son, Robert W. (Sherry) Welch of Lansing, MI; 4 step grandchildren and a brother, Frank Welch of Missouri. He was preceded in death by his wife, Esther L. (DeBeer) Welch on Dec. 21, 1998.
