Vera Markus

Little Rock, Iowa Vera Markus age 100 of Little Rock, IA died Sunday, January 14, 2007 at the Arnold Memorial Health Care Center in Adrian, MN. Funeral services will be 10:30 A.M. Friday, January 19, 2007 at the First Presbyterian Church in Little Rock with Reverend Scott Burdsall officiating. Burial will follow in the Pleasant View Cemetery in Little Rock. Visitation will be Thursday, January 18th from 3-8 P.M. with the family present from 6-8 P.M. at the First Presbyterian Church in Little Rock, IA. Vera Markus was born March 11, 1906 in Nobles County, MN the daughter of John and Bena (Schultz) Buss. She married Ed Markus December 26, 1934. Ed died November 26th 1989. She went to country school in rural George, IA. After marriage they farmed in Iowa and Minnesota. She was a member of 1st Presbyterian Church in Little Rock, IA where she taught Sunday school. She is survived by; 2 sons, Edward (Marilyn) Markus Jr. of Cheyenne, WY and Marlin (Joanne) Markus of Adrian, MN; 1 daughter, Marian Eatherton of Luverne, MN; 8 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren; 1 sister, Lydia (Morris) Tjepkes of Little Rock, IA; and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death where her parents, husband Ed, 6 sisters and 3 brothers.
