Emma Kruse

Little Rock, Iowa Emma Kruse age 94 of Little Rock, IA died Saturday, January 13, 2007 at the Rock Rapids Health Centre in Rock Rapids. Funeral services will be 10:30 A.M. Thursday, January 18, 2007 at the First Presbyterian Church in Little Rock with Reverend Scott Burdsall officiating. Burial will follow in the Pleasant View Cemetery in Little Rock. Visitation will be Wednesday, January 17th from 2-8 P.M. with the family present from 6-8 P.M. at the Roste Funeral Home of George. Emma (Buss) Kruse was born on August 27, 1912 on a farm near Little Rock, IA the daughter of John and Bena (Schultz) Buss. Emma grew up and attended school near Little Rock, IA. She was united in marriage to Helmer Kruse on September 12, 1932 at Zion Presbyterian Church rural George, IA. They farmed near Little Rock until 1969 when they moved into town. Helmer passed away on March 26, 1985 after 53 years of marriage. Emma worked at Country View Manor in Sibley, IA in the laundry department and at Arnies Caf in Little Rock. In September 2001 due to failing health she became a resident of Premier Estates Assisted Living and in September 2004 she became a resident of Rock Rapids Health Center where she passed away on January 13th at the age of 94 years 4 months and 17 days. She is survived by two sons; Dick (Evelyn) Kruse of Little Rock, and Dale (Linda) Kruse of Little Rock; two daughters, Betty (Ronald) Pope of Little Rock and Jean OBrien of Hiawatha, IA; twelve grandchildren, twenty-nine great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild; one sister; Lydia Tjepkes of Little Rock, IA; two sisters-in-law, Florence Johansen of Mankato, MN and Helen Kruse of Little Rock, IA; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents John and Bena Buss, husband Helmer Kruse, son-in-law Dennis OBrien, grandson Brett OBrien, and 2 great granddaughters Kayla Duin and Sarah Nagel, 6 sisters and 3 brothers.
