FUNERAL NOTICE: Rock Rapids, IA Jeanette De Noble, age 86 of Rock Rapids, IA died Friday, August 31, 2007 at the Lyon Manor Nursing and Rehab Center in Rock Rapids, IA. Funeral service will be 10:00 AM, Monday, Sept. 3rd at Christian Reformed Church in Rock Rapids, with Reverend Dan Haggar and Reverend Katie Van Veldhuizen officiating. Burial will follow in the Riverview Cemetery in Rock Rapids. Visitation will be Sunday, Sept. 2nd from 2 " 8 PM, with the family present from 6 " 8 PM at the Roste Funeral Home Rock Rapids. Jeanette (Van Goor) De Noble was born on July 30, 1921, the daughter of William and Carrie (Bakker) Van Goor on a farm southeast of Rock Rapids, Iowa. She attended the Rock #1 country school. On February 1, 1940, Jeanette was united in marriage to Cornelius Kenneth De Noble and the couple lived on a farm near Lester, IA. In 1943, they moved to a farm southeast of Rock Rapids and when Jeanettes parents retired they moved to their farm. They were members of the First Reformed Church in Rock Rapids. In 1954, Jeanette and Kenneth purchased a farm southwest of George, IA. They then attended the Hope Reformed Church, where Jeanette worked as a janitor for twelve years. In 1976, they sold the farm by George and moved to Rock Rapids and Jeanette worked as a nurses aide at the Rock Rapid Health Centre for six years. She was a member of the First Reformed Church of Rock Rapids, where she enjoyed being a member of the Dorcas Circle. On April 27, 2006 Jeanette became a resident of the Lyon Manor Nursing and Rehab after she suffered a stroke. Jeanette enjoyed baking and playing scrabble with her friends. Her door was always open for anyone that came to visit. Jeanette especially loved having her grandchildren and great grandchildren around. Jeanette is survived by her beloved husband of sixty-seven years, Kenneth De Noble of Rock Rapids; four children, Carolyn (husband Gayle) Wagenaar of Rushmore, MN, Janice (husband Gary) De Boer of Rock Rapids, Sandra Schultz (special friend Allen Freerks) of Plainfield, IA and Conrad (wife Audrey) De Noble of Rock Rapids; twelve grandchildren and twenty-five great grandchildren; two sisters, Alvina (husband Filbert) Krull of Enumclaw, WA and Eldora (husband John) Krull of Rock Rapids; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, infant sister Alvina and sister Marie Faber.
