Sibley, Iowa Richard Grubaugh, age 66 of Sibley, IA died Monday, August 25th, 2008 at Sanford Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD. Funeral service will be 10:30 AM Friday, August 29th, 2008 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Sibley, IA with Pastor Scott Meyer officiating. Burial will follow in the Holman Township Cemetery in Sibley, IA. Visitation will be Thursday, August 28th from 2:00-8:00 PM, with the family present from 6:00-8:00 PM at the Jurrens Funeral Home of Sibley. Richard Ray Grubaugh was born August 27, 1941 in Allendorf, Iowa to George and Loraine (Wentler) Grubaugh. He received his education in the Sibley and Sheldon schools. For most of his life Richard made his home in Sibley and over the years he worked at the Sibley Egg and Poultry Plant, Chase Bag Company and Sathers Cookie Company. He will be remembered as one who loved people. Family was very important to Richard. One of his favorite activities was playing cards with his sisters, niece and friends and just spending time with them. Richard enjoyed working at Dinner Date and did so for a number of years making sure the tables were set properly for his friends when they would arrive for the noon meal and afterward he would often help with dishes. Music and TV were also important to Richard. He loved country music and was an avid Elvis fan. He enjoyed going to the races with his brother-in-law and collecting and building model cars and drawing. This past Monday, Richard passed away at the Sanford Hospital in Sioux Falls at the age of 66. He will be missed by many. Richard is survived by two sisters, Shirley (Marty) Theisen of Sibley, IA and Joyce (Jerry) Ferguson of Sibley, IA; brother-in-law, Willard Tracy of Sibley, IA; many nieces and nephews and other family members. He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Loraine Grubaugh; two sisters, Donna Tracy and Delores Prins; one infant brother, Roy; and brother-in-law, Leonard Prins.
