George, IA Connie Schmith, age 56 of Oklahoma City, OK died Monday, July 2, 2012, at the Deaconess Hospital in Oklahoma City. Funeral services will be at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, July 10, 2012 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Hull, IA with Rev. Robert Gordon, officiating. Burial will follow at St. Paul Lutheran Church Cemetery. Visitation will be will be Monday, July 9, 2012 from 4:00 " 8:00 P.M. with the family present from 6:00 " 8:00 P.M. at the Jurrens Funeral Home of George. Connie Rae was born September 1, 1955 in Hastings MN. On April 1, 1958, at the age of 2 ½, she was welcomed into the home of Harm and Ora Fischer at Lake Benton, MN. She attended school at Lake Benton till the family moved to George, IA in March of 1972. Connie received her high school diploma from George High School in 1974. After high school, she worked in various local nursing homes. She was blessed with a daughter Sarah Lynn on March 7, 1983. Connie lost her father when he passed away on February 6, 1988. On June 28, 1997 Connie was united in marriage to Wesley Schmith and in July of 1997 she and Wesley moved to Oklahoma City, OK. God was a very important part of her life as well as family. She attended Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Bethany, OK. On Monday July 2nd, Connie went home to meet her Lord. She will be greatly missed by many friends and family. Connie is survived by her husband, Wesley of Oklahoma, OK; her daughter, Sarah Lynn Jurgensen and her children, Aaliyah, Brooklyn and Journey all of Oklahoma City; mother, Ora Fischer of George, IA; sister, Irene (Ernie) Hahn of Mesa, AZ; and other extended family members. She was preceded in death by her father, Harm Fischer.
