Hills, Minnesota Barbara Louise Freese, age 77 of Hills, MN died Wednesday, October 31, 2012 at her residence in Hills, MN. Funeral service will be 10:30 AM, Monday, Nov. 5th at Jurrens Funeral Home of Hills, with Rev. Mahlon Bekedam officiating. Burial will follow at Bethlehem Lutheran Cemetery in Hills. Visitation will be Sunday, Nov. 4th from 4:00 to 8:00 PM, with the family present from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Jurrens Funeral Home of Hills. Barbara Louise Freese was born March 4, 1935 at Farmville, North Carolina, the daughter of Woodrow and Etta (Frizelle) Welton. She attended country school and graduated from Farmville High School. She was united in marriage to Duane Freese on May 1, 1954 at Wilson, NC. The couple lived various place while Duane served in the U.S. Army, such as Fort Bragg for seven years, Germany for three years, Fort Rucker, Alabama and Fort Utes, Virginia. After he received his discharge they farmed for a few years near Sanborn, IA, and then moved to Hills, MN in 1984. She worked at Bacon Hill for two years before going to work as a CNA at Mary Jane Brown Nursing Home in Luverne, MN. After several years she retired. Barbara enjoyed traveling, crochet crafts and flower gardening. This past Wednesday, October 31, 2012, Barbara died unexpectedly at her home in Hills. Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 58 years, Duane Freese of Hills, MN; a daughter, Debbie (Stanley) Andringa of Armstrong, IA; a son, Douglas (Andrea) Freese of Mesa, AZ; six grandchildren, Veronica (Jessi) Bauer of Swea City, IA, Anthony Andringa of Dolliver, IA, Taylor Andringa of Fairmont, MN, Samantha Freese, Duane Freese and Kyle Freese, all of Mesa, AZ; four great-grandchildren, Ethan Weber, Rebekah Bauer, Joslyn Weber, all of Swea City, IA and Ashlynne Andringa of Dolliver, IA; a brother, Charles Welton of Wilson, NC; niece, Lauren Welton of Wilson, NC; and other extended family. She was preceded in death by her parents, Woodrow Welton and Etta Carter; parents-in-law, Penn and Fern Rodgers; and brother-in-law, Ted Freese.
