FUNERAL NOTICE: Luverne, MN Anna Vogt, age 92 of Luverne, MN, formerly of Ellsworth, MN, died Saturday, September 15, 2007, at the Mary Jane Brown Good Samaritan Home in Luverne. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, September 20th at Zion Presbyterian Church in Ellsworth, MN with Pastor Deb Klaassen, officiating. Burial will follow in the Grand Prairie Cemetery at Ellsworth, MN. Visitation will be Wednesday from 4-8 p.m. with the family present at the Zion Presbyterian Church in Ellsworth, MN. Anna D. Vogt as born September 12, 1915 in Sheldon, IA the daughter of William and Anna (Seiders) Dewitt. She received her education at Sibley, IA. Anna married George Vogt on December 24, 1931 in Sioux Falls. The couple farmed near Little Rock, Rushmore, and Ellsworth. They moved to Ellsworth in 1970. Anna and George were members of Immanuel Presbyterian Church in Rushmore and in later years members of Zion Presbyterian Church in Ellsworth, where she taught Sunday School and was a member of the Ladies Aid - Martha Circle. She enjoyed being involved with the senior citizen group in Ellsworth and she also loved to sew, especially making quilts and doilies. She was a very good cook and family will remember favorites including sour cream raisin pie. Anna had many wonderful qualities, especially her smile, which was ever-present along with her friendly disposition. Along with being a homemaker, Anna worked at the Ellsworth State Bank for a number of years. Annas husband George died December 17, 2006 after 74 years of marriage. This past Saturday, September 15, 2007, Anna died at Mary Jane Brown Home in Luverne, MN, at the age of 92. She is survived by her three sons, William H., and his wife, Dixie Vogt of Rock Rapids, IA, George J., and his wife, Donna Vogt of Hartford, SD and Gordon L. Vogt of Louisville, KY; two daughters, Shirley Ann, and her husband, George Heidebrink of Worthington, MN and Betty Jean, and her husband, Larry Rosenberg of Slayton, MN; fifteen grandchildren; twenty-nine great-grandchildren; and ten great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Sylvia Sneider of Hermeston, OR, and Rose Rennaker of Cambridge, MN; and many nieces and nephews. Anna was preceded in death by her husband George Vogt, a daughter, Henrietta Mae, her parents, William and Anna DeWitt, five brothers, and four sisters. Roste Funeral Home of Hills is in charge of arrangements.
