Samuel "Sam" Harris Kruger

Sibley, Iowa Samuel Sam Kruger, age 20 of Sibley, IA died unexpectedly on Friday, October 8, 2010, of injuries sustained in an automobile accident. Memorial service will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 12th at the Tabernacle Baptist Church in George, IA, with Pastor Bryan Anderson officiating. A private burial will take place at a later date. Visitation will be Monday, October 11th from 2:00 " 8:00 p.m. with family present from 6:00 " 8:00 p.m. at the Jurrens Funeral Home of Sibley. Samuel Harris Kruger was born on June 10, 1990, the son of Jerry and Loree (Johnson) Kruger in Sibley, IA. He grew up in Sibley and graduated from Sibley-Ocheyedan High School in 2009. He was currently attending Iowa State University in Ames, IA, and had the honor of being one of the dorm floor presidents. He was also a member of Navigators and The American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) in Ames. He was a member of the Tabernacle Baptist Church in George, IA. Sam was quite the entrepreneur, and was the proud owner of Lil Kruges Mowing. He enjoyed participating in intramural basketball and football. He was a gourmet cook, liked to play Rook, and was a devoted Minnesota Twins fan. It was rare to see Sam without a smile on his face and brought joy with his presence to those surrounded by him. Left to cherish his memory are his parents, Jerry and Loree Kruger of Sibley, IA; brother Zack (wife Erin) Kruger of Owatonna, MN; sister BreAnna Kruger of Rochester, MN; grandmother Lavetta Kruger of Mitchell, SD; honorary grandparents Ginny Clarey, Ora Fisher, Irene Leinen, Lee and Leola Bleeker, Louis and Joann Vust, and Eldon and Bea Johnson; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Jacob Kruger; maternal grandparents, Harry and Milly Johnson; and great-aunt Evelyn Kruger. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorials, all of which will be designated to Gospel Link and The Navigators.
