Sibley, Iowa Judith Judy Eckhoff, age 71 of Sibley, IA died Tuesday, January 27, 2009 at the Osceola Community Hospital in Sibley. Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Saturday, January 31, 2009 at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Sibley, with Pastor Scott Meyer officiating. Burial will follow in the Holman Township Cemetery of Sibley. Visitation will be Friday, January 30th from 2-8 P.M. with the family present from 6-8 P.M. at the Jurrens Funeral Home of Sibley. Judith Carol Eckhoff was born on January 22, 1938 in Clay County, Iowa, the daughter of Donald and Helen Jacobson. During her childhood years she lived in Peterson, IA, Spirit Lake, IA and later Judy and her family moved to Sibley, IA. On March 8, 1956, she was united in marriage to Bernhardt Eckhoff in Melvin, IA. After their marriage they made their home in Sibley. Judy was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church of Sibley. She enjoyed raising dogs, going to flea markets, going to garage sales, shopping with her mother and fishing. She leaves to cherish her memory her husband, Bernhardt Eckhoff of Sibley; three children, Leonard (wife, Linda) Eckhoff of Wilmet, IL, Cindy Jesperson of Longmont, CO and Rick Eckhoff of Sibley; five granddaughters and two great-grandsons; one sister, Ramona (husband, Mike) Owen of Everly, IA; one brother-in-law, Lawrence Eckhoff of Ocheyedan, IA; two sisters-in-law, Marlene Ferrel of Minneapolis, MN and Loraine Vinger of Rockford, IL; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by parents; one brother-in-law; and one sister-in-law.
