Sibley, Iowa Iola Grave, age 84 of Sibley, Iowa died Monday, March 17, 2008 at the Osceola Community Hospital in Sibley. Funeral service will be 1:00 PM, Thursday, March 20th at Trinity Lutheran Church in Sibley, IA, with Rev. Scott Meyer officiating. Burial will follow at the Evergreen Lawn Cemetery at George, IA. Visitation will be Wednesday, March 19th fro m 2 " 8 PM, with the family present from 6 " 8 PM at Trinity Lutheran Church in Sibley. Iola Lorraine Grave was born on March 4, 1924, the daughter of Jack and Florence (Fiihr) Heitritter in George, IA. She graduated from George High School and went on to get her teaching certificate at the University of Northern Iowa. On September 6, 1946, Iola was united in marriage to Bernard Grave in George, Iowa. The couple moved to Sibley in 1947, then later moved to Adrian for three years, Lismore for three years and then moved to Little Rock where they farmed for many years. In 1976, after Bernards death Iola moved into Sibley. She taught for thirty-eight years, teaching in rural George for six years and Little Rock for thirty-two years. Iola was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Sibley, where she was active in the ladies circle. She also did a lot of volunteer work for the school in Sibley. Iola is survived by two sons; Gary (Kathy) Grave of Spencer, IA and Greg (Faye) Grave of Little Rock, IA; five grandchildren; and one great-grandson; one brother, Jack Heitritter of Mauston, WI; two sisters, Audrey Evers of Hoyt Lakes, MN and Sharon Antisdol of Wilton, IA; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Bernard on April 24, 1975; a sister in infancy; a brother Duane Heitritter; three sisters, Norma Peidorfs, Darlene Cumins and Lavonne Roberts.
