Inwood, IA Emma Feucht, age 84 of Inwood, IA died Wednesday, December 13, 2006 at the Rock Rapids Health Care Centre of Rock Rapids. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday December 16, 2006 at the Apostolic Christian Church in Lester. Burial will follow in the Apostolic Christian Cemetery at Lester. Visitation will be Friday from 2-4 p.m. and from 6-8 p.m. with the family present at the Apostolic Christian Church Fellowship Hall. Emma Frieda (Ruehle) Feucht was born October 28, 1922 at Youngstown, OH, the daughter of Benjamin and Frieda (Scharsu) Ruehle. Emma grew up at Youngstown, OH and graduated from Chaney High School in 1940. Just out of high school, Emma worked as a board girl for Butler and Wick, a brokerage firm in Youngstown, OH and later for Dr. Baker before moving to California in 1943. While in California she worked for Kraft Foods and General Mills. On November 23, 1944, she was united in marriage to Carl Feucht at the Wedding Chapel in Lynwood, CA. Emma became a member of the Apostolic Christian Church in 1948. In 1949, a few months after the death of Carls father, Emma and Carl returned to Lester to work with his brothers in farming. The couple farmed various locations in Lyon County until they purchased their own land in 1954 and moved to the Larchwood area, remaining there for nineteen years. In 1973, they moved to a farm near Inwood, where they continued to farm until retirement in 1984. They moved into Inwood in 1985. Emma worked in the dietary department at Fellowship Village from 1989 to 1993. She loved to garden and entertain family and friends. Emma moved into the Village Inn Apartments in 2001. On October 30, 2006, she became a resident of the Rock Rapids Health Centre in Rock Rapids where she died this past Wednesday evening, December 13, 2006 at the age of eighty-four. She is survived by her sons, Darrel and his wife, Laura and Dean and his wife, Diana, all of Inwood; four grandchildren, Kristi, Jeffrey, Steven and Daniel; one great-granddaughter, Samantha; one brother, William Bill Ruehle; and three sisters, Hilda Ruehle, Sedona Dubow and Helen Julien. Emma was preceded in death by her husband, Carl; parents, Benjamin and Frieda; three brothers, Benjamin, Edward and Arthur; and one sister, Louise DeCarlo.
