George, Iowa Beverly Janssen age 80 of Forest City, IA formerly of George, IA died Thursday, February 17th at the Good Samaritan Society at Forest City, IA. Family service will be 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 22nd at the Jurrens Funeral Home at George, IA with Rev. Dale Lint, officiating. Burial will follow in the Zoar Presbyterian Cemetery at George. Visitation will be Tuesday, February 22nd from 1:00 " 3:00 p.m. with the family present at the Jurrens Funeral Home of George. Mom was a Daughter. Born to Henry and Christine (Goldhorn) Bruns June 20, 1930 at George, Iowa. She grew up on the family farm. She attended country school and graduated from George High school in 1947. She continued her education and graduated from Cedar Falls Teachers College and started teaching country school. Mom was a Sister. Hilda Klinkenborg, Lorraine Wibben and Gussie Hansman. Mom was a Wife. Uniting in marriage to Daryl Lee Janssen on June 5, 1951 at Ellsworth, Minnesota. Mom was a Teacher. One room school district. Sunday School. Kitchen table at home. Mom was our Mom & Grandmother. Survived by her Children: Mark Alan (Pat) Janssen of George, IA Jean Ann (Stanley) Groth of Pilger, NE Paula Kay (Tom) Rotta of Forest City, IA Grandchildren : Maggie (Aaron) Rice of Fairmont, MN; Hillery Janssen of Sioux Falls, SD and Brittany Janssen of Sioux Falls, SD Great Grandchildren: Avry and Ayson Rice Preceded in death by her husband, Daryl; her parents, Henry and Christine; and one sister, Hilda Klinkenberg. Mom was Special and Sweet. Mom had a propensity towards competition, and she was an ATHLETE. High School Basketball. Games and Puzzles. Caught the biggest fish! Twins, Vikings, and Timberwolves. Mom was an ANIMAL LOVER. Dog Whisperer, and they seemed to listen. Cat Nurturer, the Pied Pieper . Her cows were more than her job. Mom was a COLLECTOR. Rocks. Feathers. Sale Items. Hidden in the drawer. Mom harbored a CREATIVE SOUL. She could make something out of nothing. She would appreciate the best in everyone. She recognized the needs of others ahead of her own. Mom was a MUSICIAN. She played the Piano. She loved to sing hymns. Sheldon Radio played in her barn. Mom was a SERVANT. Your schedule was hers. Your favorite became hers. Your thoughts were the most important to her. Mom was a HARD WORKER. Walked the beans, counting the cockle burrs. Milked the cows twice a day, learning how to swear. Mowed the lawn, and the ditches, and a path to the corner. Mom is an Angel. ~ She left more behind her than her footsteps ~
