George, IA Johanna Krull, age 89 of George, IA died Friday, March 02, 2007 at the Osceola Community Hospital in Sibley, IA. Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at First Presbyterian Church in Little Rock with Rev. Scott Burdsall officiating. Burial will follow in the Pleasant View Cemetery. Visitation will Monday from 2:00 " 8:00 p.m. with the family present from 6:00 " 8:00 p.m. at the Roste Funeral Home of George. Johanna (Schilling) Krull was born January 31, 1918, on a farm near Little Rock, IA the daughter of Harm and Freda (Wiertzma) Schilling. Johanna grew up on the family farm and attended country school. After her education she worked at home on the farm and also worked for area farmers as a hired girl. On February 21, 1939, she was united in marriage to Weert Krull at Hope Reformed Church of George. The newly wed couple made their home for a short time at Edna. They later moved to a farm south of Little Rock and in 1963, they moved to their farm where they farmed until retirement. Johanna enjoyed living on the farm, working in the field with horses and preparing delicious meals to everyone when they were over to help on the farm. She took care of many of the farmyard chores as well as tending to her family and home. Johanna had a fun loving, teasing spirit and always enjoyed listening to polka music and playing pinochle with family and friends. Johannas husband died in 1995, ending their marriage of fifty-seven years, she continued to live on the farm until 2003, when she moved into George. This past Friday, March 2, 2007, Johanna died at the Osceola Community Hospital in Sibley at the age of eighty-nine. She is survived by her children, Delbert and his wife, Delores Krull of George; and Delinda and her husband, Le Roy Kruger of George; seven grandchildren; six great grandchildren; one sister, Dena Broesder of Sibley, IA and one sister-in-law, Betty Schilling of Sibley. Johanna was preceded in death by her husband, Weert; her parents, Harm and Freda; three brothers, George, John and Herbert Schilling; and one sister, Gert Kruger. Blessed be her memory.
