Sibley, IA Dale Schuck, age 72 of Sibley, IA, died suddenly from complications of a brain aneurysm on Sunday, July 11, 2010 at the Osceola Community Hospital in Sibley, IA. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, July 15, 2010 at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Sibley with Rev. Dr. Robert J. Stemme officiating. Burial will follow in the Ocheyedan Township Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday, July 14 from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with family present from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Jurrens Funeral Home of Sibley. Dale Lorenz Schuck was born October 29, 1937 in Sibley, IA, the son of Paul and Lena (Davids) Schuck. He was raised in the Little Rock area and graduated from Little Rock High School in 1956. He attended Northwestern College for one year before entering the United States Army. He was united in marriage to Joan Pearson at the United Methodist Church in Sibley, IA on November 22, 1963. He worked as a press foreman for Keith Merrick Company for over 30 years. He also worked part time for the elevator and the Conveyor Company. He was a member of the United Methodist Church, the George E. Mudge Post 324 American Legion in Sibley, IA. He also served with the Osceola Color Guard. He was credited for forming the Sibley men's fast pitch softball team. He enjoyed hunting, especially bow hunting, fishing, playing pool and following his grandchildrens sports activities. He looked forward to getting together with his coffee buddies and meeting his friends at the VFW. In 2008, he was the thirteenth person to receive the LVAD (heart pump). He and Joan were honored to mentor many other recipients of the heart pump. This past Sunday, July 11, 2010, Dale died suddenly from complications of an aneurysm at the Osceola Community Hospital in Sibley at the age of seventy-two. Dale is survived by his wife of forty-six years, Joan Schuck of Sibley, IA; three children, Steve (Barb) Schuck of Cherokee, IA, Mike (Michelle) Schuck of Ocheyedan and Jed (Shelley) Schuck of Sibley, IA; five grandchildren, Krista (Anthony) Miller of Cherokee, IA, Kayla Schuck of Cherokee, IA, Kyle Schuck of Cherokee, IA, Dylan and Trey Schuck of Sibley, IA; great-grandchildren, Taelyn Reuter of Cherokee, IA, and Kael and Kaitlyn Miller of Cherokee, IA. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Scott Schuck; and brother, Donald Schuck.
