Ellsworth, MN Gerald Jerry Nolte age 71 of Ellsworth, MN died Thursday, March 22, 2007, at Parkview Manor in Ellsworth, MN. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, March 26th at Zion Presbyterian Church in Ellsworth with Rev. Bill Kleymann, officiating. Burial will follow in the Grand Prairie Cemetery at Ellsworth, MN. Visitation will be Sunday from 2:00 " 8:00 p.m. with the family present from 4:00 " 8:00 p.m. at the Zion Presbyterian Church of Ellsworth. Gerald Jerry Nolte was born March 20, 1936 at Ellsworth, MN the son of Alvin and Eunice (Swanson) Nolte. Jerry grew up at Ellsworth where he attended school, graduating in 1954. After his education he entered the military, serving in the United States Army. Upon his honorable discharge, Jerry met Marlene Loken and they were united in marriage on May 25, 1959 at Rock Rapids. Jerry and Marlene made their home in Sioux Falls and in 1982, Jerry moved to Ellsworth. Jerry was a life long trucker, driving until he retired. In his spare time he enjoyed fishing, camping, traveling and searching for coins and artifacts with his metal detector. Jerry was proud of his family and also of his military service. Everyone who knew Jerry knew he was a hard worker and determined to complete what ever task was at hand. Jerry died this past Thursday, March 22, 2007, at the Parkview Manor in Ellsworth at the age of seventy-one. He is survived by his children, Steve Nolte and his special friend, Jerri Boni of Pierre, SD; and Kim and her husband, Harold Chadwick of George; four grandchildren; one sister, Janet (and Marc) Gjovang of Eugene, OR; one brother-in-law, Dick Visker of Ellsworth, MN; and two sisters-in-law, Shirley Nolte of Ellsworth and Kay Nolte of Heron Lake, MN. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Alvin and Eunice; his spouse Marlene; his daughter, Shannon Nolte; granddaughter, Ashley; two brothers Richard and Dwight; and one sister, Elaine Visker.
