George, Iowa Marybelle Timmermans, age 82 of George, IA died on Wednesday, April 2, 2014 at Sanford Hospital in Rock Rapids, IA. Funeral Service will be 11:00 AM Saturday, April 5, 2014 at Ebenezer Presbyterian Church in George, IA with Pastor Paul Soderquist officiating. Burial will be at a later date. Visitation will be Friday, April 4th from 2 - 8 PM with family present from 6 - 8 PM at the Jurrens Funeral Home of George, IA. Marybelle Joan Timmermans was born September 16, 1931 in Cedar Rapids, IA to Bruce and Phyllis (Sudenga) Weatherly. She was raised in Rock Rapids and graduated from Rock Rapids High School. She furthered her education at the Lutheran Hospital School of Nursing in Sioux City, IA graduating as a Registered Nurse in 1952. On September 13, 1953 she was united in marriage to Henry "Hank" Timmermans. The couple began their lives together in Iowa City. They then moved to Sioux City for a time before coming to Rock Rapids in 1955. She and Hank moved to George in 1959 where they remained and raised their family. Marybelle worked as a nurse in each of these cities but took a break to be home with her young family until the early 70's. She then began working at the Good Samaritan Center in George. Marybelle spent many years there, in many capacities, serving her community and friends. She will be remembered as a loving and patient person. Her kindness and giving manner blessed people both in her professional and personal life. Her family will remember her as a wonderful mother and a wonderful wife to their Dad. Marybelle was a member of Ebenezer Presbyterian Church and was active in church activities and groups. She was a Girl Scout leader, active in the Eastern Star and George Women's Club. She enjoyed sewing, gardening, traveling, Okoboji living and winters in Florida. This past Wednesday April 2, 2014 Marybelle passed away peacefully at Sanford Hospital in Rock Rapids at the age of 82. She will be greatly missed. Marybelle is survived by her husband of 60 years, Hank Timmermans of George, IA; children, Mike (Eileen) Timmermans of Vinton, IA; Cathy (Dave) Huff of Ashton, IA; Terri (Dan) Duistermars of Orange City, IA; Suzy (Jim) Berglie of Fargo, ND; and Jana (Russ) Adams of Orange City, IA; 13 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; sisters, Karyn (Clarence) Boer of Larchwood, IA and Fiddy (Melvin) Hamann of Luverne, MN; sisters-in-law, Donna Weatherly of Sioux City, IA and Eleanor Schlotfeldt of Winston Salem, NC. She was preceded in death by her parents, Bruce and Phyllis Weatherly; brother Robert Weatherly; parents-in-law, Henry and Henrietta Timmermans; infant sister, Linda Weatherly; niece, Linda Weatherly; and sister-in-law, Mary Jane Timmermans.
