Rock Rapids, IA Grace Geick, age 93 of Luverne, MN died Thursday, February 21, 2008 at the Mary Jane Brown Good Samaritan in Luverne, MN. Funeral service will be 11:00 AM, Monday, February 25th at Peace Lutheran Church in Rock Rapids, IA with Rev. George Clausen officiating. Burial will follow at the Riverview Cemetery, in Rock Rapids, IA. Visitation will be 10AM, one hour prior to the service, with family present at the Peace Lutheran Church, Rock Rapids, IA. Grace Hotvet Geick was born at home June 14, 1914 on the Tri State Farm, the youngest daughter of Ole and Martha (Foss) Hotvet. She was baptized and confirmed into the Christian faith at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Hills, MN. She grew up near Larchwood, IA and attended Sunny Side School District #38 country school near Ben Clare, SD. She graduated from Larchwood High School in 1933. Grace then attended normal school and received her teaching certificate and taught one year. On June 27, 1937 she was married to Edwin G. Geick of Rock Rapids, IA. After her husbands death in 1959, she worked at Doris Dotys in Rock Rapids for 24 years. Grace is survived by two daughters, Martha Ann (Arlen) Olson of White Bear Lake, MN and Donna Louise (Hal) Paulson of Hardwick, MN; six grandchildrenKim (Dave) Deeg, Rebecca (Mark) Christiansen, Marc (Kim) Olson, Amy (Brett) Swenson, Tim (Carmen) Paulson, Carey (Mike) Tunnissen and 13 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Eva Hotvet of Sioux Falls, SD; sister, Ruth Holland of Inwood, IA; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Edwin; three great-grandsons; one brother, Milton; and seven sisters, Inez, Alice, Olive, Stella, Ruby, Muriel and Naomi.
