Sibley, Iowa Leonard Poss, age 82 of Sibley, Iowa died Saturday, March 21, 2009 at the Country View Manor in Sibley. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 AM, Wednesday, March 25th at St. Andrews Catholic Church in Sibley, with Father John Vakulskas as celebrant. Burial will follow at St. Andrews Catholic Cemetery in Sibley. Visitation will be Tuesday, March 24th from 2 " 8 PM, with the family present from 5 " 8 PM at the Jurrens Funeral Home of Sibley with a rosary service at 5:00 PM and a vigil service at 7:30 PM. Leonard Frank Poss was born on September 3, 1926, the son of William and Katherine Kate (Gacke) Poss in Sibley, Iowa. Leonard attended St. Joseph Catholic School in Ashton thru the ninth grade. On December 10, 1993, he was united in marriage to Marjorie Strouth at the St. Andrews Catholic Church in Sibley. He was a member of the St. Andrews Catholic Church and the Knight of Columbus. Leonard farmed all his life, as a grain and livestock farmer and lately as a share crop farmer. He enjoyed fishing, traveling and following his stocks on his computer. Leonard is survived by his wife Marjorie Poss of Sibley; two brothers, Alvin Poss of Florence, OR and Dallas (wife, Lorraine) Poss of Sibley; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; and four brothers, Elmer, Ambrose, Urban and Wilfred Poss.
