Sibley, IA Robert H. Leathers, age 78 of Sibley, IA died Saturday, April 2, 2011 at Sibley Nursing & Rehab Center. Private Family Memorial services will be held at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, April 5th at First Presbyterian Church in Sibley. Robert Harrison Leathers was born August 20, 1932 in Kansas City, Kansas, the son of George Harrison and Florence Mable (Wheeler) Leathers. He was raised in Wolcott, Kansas. On September 28, 1953, Robert was united in marriage to Mary A. Wagoner in Leavenworth, Kansas. Six children were blessed to this union. They lived in Kansas City, Ocheyedan, IA and Sibley, IA, while Robert was an over the road trucker. Robert enjoyed genealogy, writing poems and short stories. He also was very familiar with computers. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family. On March 29, 2011 Robert entered the Sibley Nursing and Rehab Center as a result of failing health. This past Saturday, April 2, 2011, Robert died at the age of 78. He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Mary A. Leathers of Sibley, IA; three children, Mary (husband John) Siscoe of Olathe, KS, Garold D. (wife Jackie) Leathers of Sibley, IA and Daniel E. (wife Annette) Leathers of Belton, MO; ten grandchildren; and twelve great-grandchildren; and other extended family. He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Florence Leathers; a daughter, Connie Sue Leathers; two sons, Jerry and Terry Leathers; a sister, Mable Mather; and two brothers, Harry F. and Charles Leathers
