Hendrene Leenderts

Hills, Minnesota Hendrene Leenderts, age 83 of Hills, MN passed away Saturday, October 20, 2012 at the Sanford Hospice Cottage in Luverne, MN. Funeral service will be 10:30 AM, Thursday, October 25th at the Reformed Church of Steen, MN, with Rev. Dan Kuik officiating. Burial will follow at Eastside Cemetery in Steen, MN. Visitation will be Wednesday, October 24th from 2:00 to 8:00 PM, with the family present from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Jurrens Funeral Home of Hills. In Lieu of flowers memorials are preferred. Hendrene Beyenhof was born May 26, 1929 to Herman and Christina (Smith) Beyenhof in Sioux Falls, SD. She grew up in the Steen area. On January 19, 1951 she married Richard Leenderts. The couple made their home in Hills and raised four children. Hendrene worked at the Tuff Memorial Home in Hills for 30 years. She was a member of The Reformed Church of Steen. Hendrene passed away at the Hospice Cottage in Luverne on October 20, 2012. She enjoyed collecting stuffed bears. She also loved flowers. Her real joy in life was spending time with her children and grandchildren. The kids always knew they could go to grandmas house and her door would be open to them. Hendrene is survived by her husband, Richard Leenderts of Hills, MN; four children, Coni Hagedorn (Wally) of Northfield, MN, Darrell Leenderts (Melanie) of Sioux Falls, SD, Arlen Leenderts (Lois) of Hills, Brenda Smith (Scott) of Prior Lake, MN; 9 grandchildren, Shawn Hagedorn(Brenda), Kelly Hagedorn(Amber), Christopher Hagedorn(Nikki), Alli Hagedorn, Jill Malsam(Chris), Laura Malec(Mike), Greg Leenderts(Laura), Tonya Devers(Ryan), Jessie Eben(Jeremy); 11 great grandchildren; and a brother, Clarence "Tub" Beyenhof. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother Bernie Beyenhof.
