Verlyn loved to grill, and it was known he could cook a great steak. He enjoyed a T-bone from his grill the night before he died. It is also well known that Verlyn loved to go to auctions. He and Wolfie would always have their next sale picked out and plans to attend and very often he would come home with a new antique to add to his collection. Verlyn has had sheep for many years on his acreage and he took great joy in tending and dealing with his sheep. He also collected advertising materials; pens, letter openers, yardsticks and other objects advertisers could place their name and numbers on to attract business. He especially enjoyed collecting items that were used in and around Little Rock.
