Sibley, IA William Bill Bergman age 56 of Harris, IA died Tuesday March 26, 2013 at the Sibley Nursing and Rehabilitation facility in Sibley, IA. Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Friday, March 29, 2013 at United Methodist Church in Sibley with Pastor Tim Nappe of the Faith Lutheran Church officiating. A luncheon will be served immediately after the funeral service and then burial graveside services will follow in Union Cemetery at Harris, IA. Visitation will be Thursday, March 28, 2013 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with family present from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Jurrens Funeral Home in Sibley. William James Bergman was born on July 3, 1956 in Sibley, Iowa, the son of James and Matilda (Kruger) Bergman. He was baptized on August 5, 1956 and confirmed on May 17, 1970; both took place at St. Johns Lutheran Church in Harris, Iowa. Bill attended school in Harris until moving to Sibley for his sophomore year, attending Sibley High School, where he later graduated in 1974. Bill worked for Schierholt Implement in Lake Park, IA for a time and then began farming the family farm by Harris. He enjoyed fishing, reading, and answering trivia questions as he was watching Jeopardy on TV. Bill would often be seen around Harris in his pickup, accompanied by his dog, Chester. He was also an avid sports fan, watching all kinds of sports such as the Twins, Vikings, NASCAR and Stock Car Racing. Bill will be greatly missed by family and friends. Bill is survived by his parents, James and Matilda Bergman of Sibley, IA; five sisters, Bobbi (LeRoy) Swedlund of Omaha, NE, Lynn (Greg) Echter of Omaha, NE, Tina Horn of Lincoln, NE, Jenny (Bob) Renken of Omaha, NE and Betsy Bergman of Lincoln, NE; thirteen nieces and nephews, many aunts, uncles, cousins and other extended family. He was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents.
