Sibley, IA Georgia M. Buchman, age 81of Sibley, died Friday, November 26, 2010 at the Country View Manor in Sibley, Iowa. Funeral service will be 10:30 AM Tuesday, November 30, 2010 at the United Methodist Church in Sibley, with Reverend Charles Gilbert officiating. Burial will follow in the Holman Township Cemetery in Sibley. Visitation will be Monday, November 29th from 2:00 to 8:00 PM, with the family present from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the Jurrens Funeral Home of Sibley. Georgia Mae Buchman, the daughter of Floyd and Ella (Sterler) Buchman was born on November 14, 1929 in Sibley, Iowa. She grew up in Sibley and graduated from the Sibley High School in 1951. Georgia lived in Sibley all her life and worked as a cook for several cafs throughout the years and was the custodian for the United Methodist Church in Sibley for 33 years. She was a lifelong member of the United Methodist Church, where she served as a member of the UMW, Worship and Memorial Committees and the Ad Council. Georgia enjoyed crocheting, reading, working crossword and word find puzzles. She especially loved music and learned to play the piano and accordion as a young girl. Georgia and her siblings, Ruth and Earl were known as the Buchman Trio and loved to play their instruments together for Good Ole Summertime Days , during Sibleys Crazy Day and at several churches in Sibley. Georgia is survived by two siblings, Ruth and Earl Buchman of Sibley, IA; one uncle, Harold Buchman of Sibley; several cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents, infant sister, Helen Frances Buchman; and aunts, uncles and cousins.
