Sibley, Iowa Johanna Johnson, age 78 of Sibley, Iowa died Saturday, May 24, 2008 at the Osceola Community Hospital in Sibley. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 27th at the United Church of Christ in Sibley with Reverend Larry Laskie officiating. Burial will follow at the Holman Townships Cemetery in Sibley. Visitation will be Monday, May 26th from 2 " 8 p.m. with family present from 6 " 8 p.m. at the Jurrens Funeral Home of Sibley, Iowa. Johanna E. Johnson was born May 8th, 1930 to Reinder and Sena (Kor) Hulzebos in Ellsworth, Minnesota. She grew up on a farm near Sibley. On March 21, 1948 Johanna was united in marriage to Alfred Johnson at the Congregational Church in Sibley. The couple lived in Ashton for a few years and later moved to Sibley. Johanna worked as an inspector and machine operator for Union Camp (Now known as Exopack) in Sibley, for twenty-three years. She enjoyed baking brownies, needle work, making blankets for her family, sewing grandkids pants, making New Years cake and her flowers. Johannas children and grandchildren were very important to her, not only did she love spending time with them, she also found delight in helping her husband Alfred, as he helped them make their pinewood derby cars for Boy Scouts. Johanna is survived by four children; Dennis (wife Janine) Johnson of Bettendorf, IA, James Jim (wife Janell) Johnson of Cherokee, IA, Connie (husband Gary) Wollmuth of Sibley, IA, and Karen (husband Blair) Chinn of Sibley; fifteen grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Jennie Jenkins of Avon Minnesota. She was preceded in death by her parents, Reinder and Sena Hulzebos; her husband of 57 years, Alfred Johnson; two brothers, Jans Hulzebos and Doedo Hulzebos.
