George, Iowa Gusta Timmerman, age 82 of George, IA died on Monday, March 25, 2013 at the Sanford Hospital in Rock Rapids, IA. Funeral service will be 11:00 AM, Friday, March 29th at Bethel Reformed Church, rural Little Rock, IA, with Rev. Matt Miller officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday, March 28th from 2:00 to 8:00 PM, with the family present from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at the Bethel Reformed Church of rural Little Rock, IA. Gusta Jane Timmerman was born December 5, 1930 on the family farm northeast of George, Iowa, the daughter of Henry Sr. and Jennie (Christians) Duin. She attended country school and helped with the farm work. She was united in marriage to John W. Timmerman Jr. on February 10, 1954 at Bethel Reformed Church rural Little Rock, IA. The couple farmed near Rock Rapids for a time and then moved to a farm by George in 1961. John and Gusta retired in 1994 and moved into George. Gusta was a member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary, and a member of the Bethel Reformed Church, active with the Bethel Joy Circle. She enjoyed gardening, embroidery, sending cards to family and friends, visiting and baking, which she was known for her Rusks and cookies. She loved collecting things with heart designs on them. She and John enjoyed many trips together, traveling with family and friends. Most of all, Gusta treasured her time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. On August 9, 2012 Gustas husband, John died after 58 years of marriage. She remained active with life until March 15th, when she entered the Sanford Hospital of Rock Rapids, where she died this past Monday, March 25, 2013, at the age of 82. She is survived by her four children, Janice Krull of George, IA, Deb (Burt) Klaassen of Sibley, IA, James (Doreen) Timmerman of George, IA, and Dale Timmerman of Sibley, IA; twelve grandchildren, Ryan (DeAnna) Krull, Rachel Nielsen, Renae (Micah) Weber, Reid Krull, Jeremy (Ashley) Klaassen, Kristen (Travis) Hardie, Taylor and Katie Timmerman and Brian, Brandon, Eric and Kendra Timmerman; eight great-grandchildren; three sisters-in-law, Marlys Duin of Rock Rapids, Barb Duin of Sioux Falls, SD and Betty Timmerman of Rock Rapids, IA; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Jennie Duin; her husband John W. Timmerman Jr.; three brothers, Fred, Ed, and Henry Duin Jr.; a sister, Rose Ann Wulfsen; and a son-in-law, Rodney Krull.
